BSL Astronomy Glossary - arcturus - definition

Definition: Arcturus is the brightest star in the constellation of Bootes. When you look at the constellation, at the bottom, one star is clearly brighter than the others. It can be found in the night sky by locating the Plough, in the constellation Ursa Major, and following the arc made by the three stars that form the handle of the plough, downwards until you come to the next bright star, which is Arcturus.
