BSL Astronomy Glossary - leo - definition

Definition: A constellation is a group of stars and Leo is a constellation that resembles a lion, hence its name. It can be found in the night sky by locating the Plough. Using the two stars that represent the blade of the plough, nearest to the handle, trace a line through them and down until arriving at a pattern of stars that looks like the mirror image of a question mark. When imaginary lines are added in the video, this reversed question mark is quite easy to see. It represents the head and mane of the lion and the lion’s body lies to the left of it in the night sky, as shown by the artist’s impression.
