BSL Astronomy Glossary - planisphere - definition

Definition: A planisphere is a star chart that can be adjusted to show the stars that are present in the night sky at particular times of the year. The rotation of the planisphere, shown in the video clip, matches the rotation of the heavens so that you can set it to a particular date to discover which stars are in the sky at that particular time.
