BSL Astronomy Glossary - Uranus - definition

Definition: Uranus is one of the gas giants in our solar system. The seventh planet from the sun, it is one of the four outer planets that lie beyond the Asteroid Belt. All the other planets in our solar system orbit on a vertical axis while Uranus is different and orbits on a horizontal axis. Like its neighbour, Saturn, it has rings but Uranus' rings are much finer.
