When we're using chemicals and if we (accidentally) spill some on our hand, it can be very painful and sore; sometimes it can even cause damage to the skin and that's because it's corrosive.
This can happen if it's a strong acid or a strong alkaline - it burns and that will be very painful so you need to pour water on it straight away.
Bottles containing these types of chemicals will have a label on them so we know they're corrosive. The label will look something like this ... so if you see a bottle labelled ‘Corrosive' be very careful - if you get any on you, it will hurt.
