BSL Chemistry Glossary - freezing - definition

Definition: Something that is freezing is very cold. In a liquid, like water, the particles move round easily. As it gets colder the particles come closer together and move more slowly. They are locked together in a solid and can’t move. The liquid becomes a solid. So as the temperature gets colder, water changes to ice.
