BSL Chemistry Glossary - physical change - definition

Definition: A physical change is when a material changes to another form, but can then change back again to the first form. It is not a new material after the change. An example is ice. If you leave ice in a warm place, it will melt and change to water. It can change back to ice again if you freeze it. This physical change can happen many times.
