BSL Chemistry Glossary - plastic - Definition

Plastics are a group of synthetic materials made of Polymers. There are natural Polymers like Starch and Protein, but we also make things like plastic bags using Polymers such as Polyethene (for plastic bags) and Polypropene and these are both Plastics.

There are two types of Plastic - Thermoplastic and Thermosetting Plastics.
