BSL Chemistry Glossary - stain-proofing - Definition

Stain proofing is a way of protecting clothing or material from dirt. It can also be used on carpets or chairs. This can be done by spraying or rubbing a special chemical (onto the surface of the material) which will protect it from being damaged when it gets something spilled on it.
