BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Combined heat and power (CHP) station definition

Definition: A power station that generates electricity will also produce heat as part of the electricity generation process. This waste heat is captured and used elsewhere as part of a new technology where it is sent to heat local homes. These stations are combined heat and power stations.
