BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Dendrochronology definition

Definition: Dendrochronology is a method of establishing the age of a piece of wood/tree by counting the number of darker concentric growth rings starting from the middle and working outwards. Each ring represents one year of growth and can be seen when a tree has been felled.
