BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Global warming definition

Definition: Global warming is being caused by gases that are trapping heat from the sun in the earth's atmosphere. These gases are a product of farming, industry, transport etc and this build up is causing world temperatures to rise. Global warming is having an impact on our world in lots of different ways and is adversely affecting wildlife and vegetation. Mountain ice is melting and some areas are becoming more arid so that animals do not have enough to eat.
