BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Strip cropping definition

Definition: A farmer may plant alternate strips of 2 different crops in a field. This is done to ensure there is food throughout the year and for the soil to remain under cover all year, preventing soil erosion. Strip cropping is usually used on slopes to stop the soil from blowing or washing away.
