Definition: We are currently at a crisis point and fast approaching a tipping point. A tipping point is reached when the damage that has been caused is irreversible. For example in the Amazon Rainforest there's a danger we are approaching a tipping point where the deforestation cannot be reversed. The trees of the Amazon Rainforest absorb carbon from the Earth's atmosphere - if we pass the tipping point there will be a dramatic increase in the amount of carbon in the air.
