BSL Geography Glossary - Equator - definition
Definition: Imagine the Earth, with the North Pole at the top and the South Pole at the bottom. The Equator is a line that goes around the middle of the Earth. If you could cut the Earth in half, the Equator would be the line where both hemispheres meet. The Equator is at 0°, this number increases the further north and south you move away from the Equator.
