BSL Geography Glossary - Igneous Rock - definition

Definition: Igneous rocks come from inside the Earth. Igneous rocks include lavas that form during volcanic eruptions, but also include magma that cools down and becomes solid before reaching the surface. You can remember that igneous rocks are linked with volcanoes. They can be both extrusive or intrusive.
