BSL Geography Glossary - Resolution - definition

Definition: Resolution notes the level of detail on an image or map with changing scales. Maps with a smaller scale, for example, 1:10,000, typically have more information and detail. A map with a larger scale, for example 1:25,000 will have less information and detail. A map with a scale of 1:50,000 will have even less detail.
