BSL Physics Glossary - galaxy - definition

Definition: A large groups of stars that exist in space as independent systems. Our own galaxy is called the Milky Way and consists of millions of stars. Each star is a sun like our own, perhaps with planets going round them. There are millions of galaxies in the universe.
