Excuse me - example

A wee boy had caught sight of the ice cream man and was drooling at the thought of an ice cream cone. He went to his mummy and tried to get her attention by saying, "Excuse me", but she was too busy signing to her Deaf friends. By now, he was close to tears as he couldn't get her attention. Then she noticed him and asked him what it was he wanted. The child said he wanted an ice cream, so his mummy said, "Alright" and took him off to buy one.
