Questions parents may have

What do you regard as the additional learning needs of my son/daughter?
What provision do you plan for my son/daughter to ensure that his/her requirements are met appropriately and effectively?
How much additional information about the medical aspects of my son/daughter's deafness/visual impairment do you require?
How can I assess whether my son/daughter's levels of attainment are reflecting/fulfilling his/her full potential?
What about the whole school approach to Inclusion? What will be my involvement as a parent?
My son/daughter moves into S3 next year. Will he/she be able to make their subject choices from the full range of subjects available in the school?
Are the staff and pupils of the school aware of the implications/changes required if my son/daughter is to access the curriculum and participate, fully, in the school’s activities?
I have heard about Personal Learning Plans and of a new Co-ordinated Support Plan. What are these? Will my son/daughter have one/both and, if so, will they participate in devising them?
My son/daughter is keen to settle in as quickly as possible. What aspects should we be discussing as a family in order to achieve this?
