What was best about the webinar?

Supporting materials which will be emailed to reflect back on!
Visual phonics.
Was great to attend an in person course and observe concrete materials.
Increasing my knowledge of how to teach phonics to deaf children.
The practical examples given by both facilitators - explaining and providing examples of how to use each approach with deaf learners.
Lots of new ideas, well paced, great to see example lesson plans provided as I am secondary trained and unfamiliar with how phonics lessons are conducted in primary.
The breakdown of the process on how to help the pupils and implement the processes.
İntroduction to new ideas.
I liked hearing the structure of how to deliver this in a lesson.
Practical examples and lesson ideas, video of approach in action.
Meeting colleagues, sharing experiences, picking out new ideas.
Learning different approaches.
Brian's presentation. Explanations, reasoning and demonstration of the strategy in action.
Synthetic phonics - clear reasoning on why it works and video to show it in action.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the webinar?

Videos of visual phonics
Nothing (3)
I enjoyed it.
Ppts shared in advance.
More real life examples of both methods by film.
I would love to see more video examples of each method in practise.
Discussion of application in secondary schooling with severely language deprived cases.
İnclude visual phonics for digraphs.
More video examples.
Most primary teachers will already have a good understanding of the principals of teaching phonics so it felt a lot of time was lost going over material that was already known, understood and implemented. This could have been a pre-learning resource for those who maybe don't have a primary background.
Less time spent on background phonics knowledge. Most primary teachers are already aware of this. May be a case for having this as pre-learning for staff to look at before attending the course.
