Secondary Focus Day - Transition process for deaf school leavers

The aim of this day will be to look at the transition process, experienced by deaf school leavers in Glasgow and South Lanark.

There will be a session from a representative of the SQA discussing the new exam structure. There will also be presentations to look at what support is available for deaf school leavers to help them into the world of work. Topics will include:

  • Transition experience for deaf school leavers
  • SQA - new exam
  • Supporting deaf school leavers into employment
  • STUC - Employment Rights and responsibilities

Target Audience: Teachers, parents and all those working and supporting deaf young people in secondary schools.
