With certain children will look at specific strategies and how I use voice and action in my practice.
Use some of the examples when working with babies and younger children.

The importance of listening - introducing language before visuals (talking ahead). Auditory cortex and importance of stimulating this.

What was best about the course/event?

Enjoyed seeing the video clips.
Videos, clear structure. Speaker was very clear and answered questions well.
Getting practical ideas to take out and use.
Afternoon session - strategies.
Ideas from colleagues. Reinforcement of the speech development concepts such as Ling.
Allowed time to reconsider current practice.
Some good suggestions to use in sessions.
Putting ideas into practice. Getting practical ideas of how to use toys in session.
Growing a listening brain strategies - discussion and examples of how to implement these.
Reassurance that I am already deploying many of the strategies to enhance listening development.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?

Maybe a bit more movement throughout the day.
More group activities. Too many PowerPoint slides.

Additional info in printed slides. Lots of note taking meant actually missing some content.
Sound of videos too low. Ensure all of videos work.
