New Technological Developments in Cochlear Implantation and Classroom Acoustics

Technology moves on so fast that it is hard to keep up with new developments and their potential/practical implications. This day offers a vital up-date on the following areas of current practice:

  • An update on new developments within Cochlear Implant, such as new types of devices and the linking of speech processors to FM systems.
  • The need to maximise teachers’ knowledge of classroom acoustics in light of recent Government legislation. Information on funding for classroom sound field systems and implications of the Building Bulletin 93 (Acoustic Design of Schools) will also be discussed.

Presenters: Agnes Allen, Head of Department, Cochlear Implant Unit, Crosshouse Hospital
Stuart Bowen, Sound Field Manager, PC Werth, London
