How will you use what you have learned today?

Focus on how I listen and endeavour to engage more fully with families.
Listen more carefully! Allow for silences.
Suspend my right to be right. Prepare better for critical conversations.
I will try some of the ideas for Iceberg Moments.
Think more about strategies discussed when in listening situations.
Be more aware of the whole family and how a child's deafness can impact on other family members.

What was best about the course/event?

Very informative and excellent delivery. Kate has a voice which is really easy to listen to, and good to talk with other professionals.
Materials - good resources. Reflection tasks very helpful.
Discussing with other professionals.
Time to talk to others and share experiences.
Kate was fantastic, easy to listen to, very knowledgeable and informative. Great pace.
Smaller group today, which meant better discussion and involvement.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?

Breaking up into pairs/groups to share responses.
A bit less revision.

What other CPD training would you like the SSC to provide?

Braille - pre-Braille skills. Braille - recording work not only reading, particularly for those with cognitive impairment.
A Sound Start - CI babies/toddlers
