Content

This session will provide information on the Scottish Mental Health Service for Deaf People which is part of the National Service Division hosted by NHS Lothian. Trudi Collier will also discuss her work.

The session will consist of group work where participants will examine case studies, which are loosely based on some deaf people's experiences of difficulties within education and struggles with Deaf identity and how this may have impacted on their mental health.

We would ask the participants to look at how things may have been done differently and whether this may have impacted on the person's mental health/self-esteem/Deaf identity as an adult.

The session will conclude by coming together to discuss the findings of the case studies and give an opportunity to ask questions.
