The pupils follow the school PSE programme with additions/differentiations from teachers of the deaf as necessary. Here, the content mostly follows that of the school plan, with use of specialised resources and occasional focus on deaf issues.

Additions

Weekly visit from a Deaf rSle model (Miss Irene Fortune) who discusses topical affairs, deaf issues

NDCS mentor project (to date, this is a one off). Deaf mentors come to schools (funding permitting) which was invaluable, not only because
the mentors had training in counselling, PSE and Deaf issues, they were also excellent language models.

Former pupils egularly visit and share their workplace expertise and life experiences.

PC McCallum, Community policeman, is working with $5 pupils to educate them about drug abuse in preparation for their becoming Deaf
peer tutors.
