Will you do anything differently as a result of today's training?

More awareness of support from Enquire and NDCS (National Deaf Children's Society).
I felt very unsure before - now I feel better equipped to answer parental enquiries.
Encourage more parents to apply for benefits.
Have a better understanding of what's involved, which will give me more knowledge in my job.
Be better informed when talking to parents and giving advice.
Be able to give info about benefits to parents/carers.
Give more detailed information to children and young people with visual impairments (CYPVI) and families.
I will ask parents if they have considered claiming DLA for their VI child.
I feel better equipped with more information.
Share with colleagues.
Now more informed about the DLA process and the role that RNIB can take in this.
Check that senior area of our school are aware of PIP, etc.

What was best about the course/event?

Information on Enquire. Support to complete DLA/PIP (Disability Living Allowance/Personal Independence Payment) application.
Clear presentations and materials which considered relevant issues.
Information on updates in legislation/benefits.
Good information given, which is relevant to my job.
Increasing knowledge about DLA.
Benefits session by RNIB.
Really enlightening and thought provoking.
Info on PIP/DLA.
All of it was informative.
Being able to hear questions and answers.
Useful inputs.
Input for deaf pupils.
Up to date information, clarity of information.
Level of information provided re benefits.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?

Please could you email out the RNIB handout and helpline numbers from Gillian Hallard? Thank you!
More time allocated to individual sessions.
Initial presentation was perhaps too long with too much information that could have been condensed.
Enquire could have been shorter - less info on slides please.

What other CPD training would you like the SSC to provide?

Deafblind communication.
A refresher on what deaf pupils can/should be able to access support wise, at school/college, e.g. exam accommodations, differentiation, etc.
