Connected Baby - Film night

Presented on Thursday, 29th January 2015

Following on from our successful course on Emotional Isolation by Susanne Zeedyk, 70 participants recruited via Eventbrite attended this free film presentation at Moray House School of Education.

The film explored, through video clips, how babies and young children desire to connect and communicate with others from birth. The film highlighted the importance of interpreting behaviour as communication and responding accordingly to it. The participants will have gained a deeper understanding of babies and young children as social beings and how they can better respond to their communication which, in turn, will influence their relationship with them. The impact of the course will be stronger relationships and bonds and communication between babies/young children and adults.

Professor Colwyn Trevarthen, Emeritus Professor of Child Psychology and Psychobiology at the University of Edinburgh, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and a Vice President of the British Association for Early Childhood Education, also attended and gave a very interesting impromptu talk at the end of the evening.
