Independent Living Skills

Presented on Tuesday 2 June 2009

The development of independence skills does not always come easily for some visually impaired children and young people. These children need encouragement and careful guidance from an adult who has a clear idea of the steps involved to complete tasks and knowledge of strategies, which will help a child to achieve them as independently as possible.

This course focused on independent living skills including; Homecare, laundry, clothes and food preparation skills.

Presenter: Margaret Habgood, Teacher of Independent Living Skills, Royal Blind School, Edinburgh
