How will you use what you have learned today?

Awareness of 'milk saver' and 'spot in line marking: two examples of wee tips that can be used in independent living skills.
To introduce more skills development for pupils with VI.
I will use and develop what I have been taught today when working with a variety of my pupils.
I think it will help me work more effectively with a blind pupil.
Implement new strategies into my daily living skills training with VI young people.
Be more tolerant of my son's difficulties and more confident to let him cook/bake independently.
Better insight into planning and delivery of independent living skills for VI pupils and also MDVI pupils.
Work more independently.

What was best about the course/event?

The practical element.
Practical work using the sleepshades. (2)
The way in which the course was presented. I feel that I have gained new information. I feel more confident in teaching chopping skills.
It helped me understand how the pupil feels.
Given me confidence when using knives and chopping methods.
How to use equipment safely and also different equipment available.
Special equipment.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?
Perhaps look at other areas of ILS such as ironing, washing etc (but this would probably mean that the course would have to be delivered over 2-3 days).

Very enjoyable!

Profound multiple disabilities.
Orientation and mobility for children.
Courses in independent living skills in other areas eg ironing, washing etc.
