Accessing the Further Education Curriculum - Preparing to use IT

Assistive technology and study support contribute to the additional learning support available to students requiring support to access the FE and University curriculum. 

This course is designed to introduce teaching staff, additional support for learning assistants, parents and pupils to a range of assistive technology and study support available at college level.  Participants will be able to experience the screen reading and magnification software and document scanning technology used by VI students in further education.

Consideration will be given to accessing course materials and opportunity to discuss funding procedures and assessment issues will be given.

Target audience: Professionals who work with children and young people who are visually impaired.
