Understanding Visual Fields

This one day course offered an introduction to visual fields. A detailed description of the visual pathway was followed by explanation of how defects within the visual pathway can lead to particular types of visual field loss. Methods to measure and interpret visual fields in children will also be discussed alongside explanations of the most prevalent causes of field loss in children. Participants were also given the opportunity to partake in a practical session to aid understanding of visual field loss through the use of simulation goggles. The course is designed for parents and health/ education professionals working with children with visual impairment.
