| The Resource Library The Scottish Sensory Centre Resource Library specialises in books, periodicals, videos and other educational resources which deal with sensory impairment and related issues. Offering an up-to-date collection of over 3,000 items, anyone working in or interested in sensory impairment will find the library an invaluable resource. The Library Manager can conduct specialist information searches and is always happy to advise. Opening Times The library is open Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm, 2pm - 4.30pm. Visitors are advised to contact the library manager in advance if they intend to visit. Membership Every library member receives a copy of the library catalogue listing books, videos and CD-ROMs in the library collection. Updates of new acquisitions to the library collection are sent out regularly. The SSC Newsletter is sent out to library members in September and February. For the convenience of those who cannot visit the library, a postal service is available. This service is subsidised by the library, and books and videos may be sent anywhere in the UK. Borrowers are responsible for the cost of return postage. Borrowing Entitlement and Membership Fees There are 2 classes of membership: Individuals: two items for a 3-week period. (£7 annual membership - £3 if unwaged) Organisations: six items for a 3-week period. (£15 annual membership) Items may be renewed if other borrowers have not requested them. If you are interested in joining the SSC Library please supply the library manager with your Name, Address, Postcode and daytime telephone number. The appropriate pre-filled forms will be sent out to you. The Library Manager welcomes all enquiries and can be contacted at the SSC
