Library and Information Service

Specialises in books, periodicals, video and assessments which deal with sensory impairment and related issues. Anyone interested in the education of children with sensory impairment will find the library an invaluable resource.


Opening Times

The library is open Monday - Friday, 9am - 1pm, 2pm - 4.30pm (except Fridays). Visitors are advised to contact the centre in advance if they intend to visit.

Membership

Every library member receives a copy of the library catalogue listing books, videos and CD-ROMs in the library collection.

Our eBulletin is sent out to library members regularly.

For the convenience of those who cannot visit the library, a postal service is available. This service is subsidised by the library, and books and videos may be sent anywhere in the UK. Borrowers are responsible for the cost of return postage.

Borrowing Entitlement and Membership Fees

There are 2 classes of membership:

  • Individuals: three items for a 4-week period. (£10 annual membership - £5 if unwaged)
  • Organisations: ten items for a 4-week period. (£30 annual membership)

Items may be renewed if other borrowers have not requested them.

If you email us a completed form, we can issue an invoice or you can pay by cheque, cash (in person) or via ePay. Or print forms for posting and send back with membership fee (payable to University of Edinburgh).
