Audiology

Audiology is the science or study of hearing.

An Audiologist is someone who speclalises in audiology, assessing hearing loss and fitting hearing aids.

An audiometer is a machine used for evaluating hearing loss. It generates sound at an accurate level of loudness (decibels) and at specific frequencies (Hertz). It is used to perform a pure-tone audiometry hearing test.

An audiogram is a chart used to record the results of some hearing tests. It shows you how loud a sound has to be, and at what fre quency, before it can be heard by the person being tested, with or without a hearing aid.
