5Lilli Nielsen tells a wonderful anecdote about a blind multiply disabled girl who presented great problems with eating and would not feed herself independently. Lilli describes how she arrived to visit this girl - we'll call her Katie - at lunch time. Lilli herself was hungry she sat down beside the girl, unpacked her lunch of bread and cheese and while gently chatting to the girl proceeded to eat her lunch. She was half way through her meal, when Katie reached out and started helping herself to the bread and cheese. Could it have been the lovely strong aroma of the Danish cheese which prompted her action - as well of course as wanting to share socially with Lilli. (with apologies to Lilli for any inaccuracies in the story!)
