The Complexity of Childhood Deafness: Audiology Update

Content
The morning session focused on:
- hearing and listening;
- what is deafness?
- the causes of hearing loss.
Joe O’Donnell brought along a range of available technology and discussed why children with a hearing loss need this equipment. There was an opportunity in the afternoon for discussion on any technological issues that participants were facing.
In the afternoon the focus was on:
- acoustics and speech in the classroom;
- hearing aids and radio aids.
Concluding with a question and answer session.
