Will you do anything differently as a result of today's training?

Consider a trial of Soundfield. Look into how we test FM.
Look into replacing some of the equipment we're using.
I will be able to give advice to schools on Soundfield systems.
Discuss with colleagues and schools/nurseries I work with.
Consider PEF funding for Soundfields.
Continue to use websites from the different companies to inform HT and staff about resources to enhance environments.
Consider acoustic treatments in rooms. Consider different scenarios for Soundfield systems.
Have more awareness of environments I am going into and network between management in schools and companies represented today.
I have a few questions to take back to my organisation about room layout and design in our new building.
Look at using Aurical HIT in daily support to pupils.
Consideration of Acoustics and Accessibility of spaces for HI children.
Information can be passed along to schools to provide possible solutions to sound issues.
I feel the training has helped me understand the experiences of students with hearing impairments. Made me more aware of how to better use an environment to help students.
No, but the knowledge is useful and may be helpful in the future.
Better awareness of benefits of different assistive devices and acoustic solutions.
Take knowledge back to local authority.
I will check that radio aids are being connected to Juno system in my school. I will be telling class teachers about babble guards and Juno trials.
Provides me with more knowledge to allow conversations which would enhance practice and inclusive environments ensuring the best for all children.

What was best about the course/event?

Opportunity for an update. Discovering the 'Woolly Shepherd!' - Very nice product.
The range of speakers (companies).
Particularly enjoyed presentation by Tim Simmons (Woolly Shepherd) and good opportunity to explore technology.
Woolly Shepherd - very informative and innovative.
I enjoyed some of the technical aspects of acoustics/technology.
All interesting and useful information.
I learned something from each presenter about new products.
Learning about the different products. Connevans website for all the hearing aids and associated equipment.
The up to date information from Phonak and Frontrow and Connevans. Particularly the information on the Acoustic Clouds.
Updates on new equipment was very useful.
Personal examples given in presentations of how acoustics had been improved.
I found the Woolly Shepherd presentation really interesting and a good alternative to tech.
Updates on new types of equipment. Further knowledge on acoustic clouds.
Information on Aurical HIT and the Wool Clouds.
The knowledge and expertise of speakers in their field. I enjoyed finding a lot about how each company developed.
Gaining knowledge about other products. Speakers all very knowledgeable and interesting.
Interesting and diverse presentations. Engaging and informative.
The Woolly Shepherd
Opportunity to listen to presentations, try out devices, view solutions.
Knowledge of up to date resources.
Ability to see all the equipment.
Resources available to support our most vulnerable children.

What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?

Shorter presentation slots. More time for visiting stands and talking to other delegates.
More time to explore and discuss resources with presenters.
Possibly shorter presentations in morning course - 1 hour each is quite long when ToDs and others know most of basics.
It may have been better if all the presentations were workshops with smaller groups and 'hands on' opportunities.
Presentations to be e-mailed please.
Shorter presentations!
I often find these days more to be a sales pitch. I would be interested to hear about context or research as well as the product information. I would like to take away more knowledge.
Refer again, good equipment to mainstream establishments especially.
Longer (15 mins) breaks between talks, 2 hours is a long time to sit still and concentrate.
The room. I have tinnitus and found it difficult to hear some of the presenters, especially Richard Vaughan.
Sharing good practice discussion opportunity.
Would have been enhanced by discussion from a practitioner utilising these technologies and impact on children.
