Will you do anything differently as a result of today's training?
Use Visual Phonics to support all learners who are struggling, not just deaf children. Pre- assessment for phonic readiness.
Try Visual Phonics with learners (a variety with ASN).
Further research on Visual Phonics and introduce it with my pupils.
Work a lot more on emergent literacy. Use the hand cues with some of my pupils. Let child write what she says without correcting word order all the time.
Review children on caseload who need reinforcement of phonics.
Adopt Visual Phonics with pupil I'm supporting, think it's great and a fantastic way to differentiate between "sounds" and "names".
I will try and implement the strategies taught today to pupils I work with.
Introduce Visual Phonics for those pupils that would benefit.
Share / disseminate knowledge with P1 teachers - promote the implementation of Visual Phonics to replace Jolly Phonics. Use myself in Support for Learning.
Use the assessment and moderation recommended.
Start to use Visual Phonics in practice.
Use assessment & baseline tools & develop own use of Visual Phonics - support info for non- verbal BSL deaf learner.

Practical examples/resources on USB stick.
Excellent presentation. Reminder of what we do know! Networking.
Great discussion throughout and sharing of practice, ideas, concerns. A lot of great new ideas to put into practice.
Excellent presentation - lots of practical advice and very relatable to everyday experience.
Helped me to be clearer with my practice. Although I had some knowledge of Visual Phonics, can use this with more understanding. A very enjoyable, very worthwhile day.
Tutors knowledge very valuable. Ideas shared with others working in this field.
Visual Phonics hand cues and lesson ideas.
Professional dialogue, well presented, good pace and good resources.
Excellent VAK (visual, audio, kinaesthetic) approach to teaching phonics - relevant to all. Extremely useful day! Everything was very pertinent and useful for me as an ASN Secondary teacher.
Information about the programme.
Opportunity to talk, ask questions, share and discuss practice in safe supportive environment.
What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?
Some ideas to make Visual Phonics writing strategies possible in a large mainstream class? Case studies of individual progress.
Video clips of Visual Phonics being used with pupils.
No. It is one of the most useful courses I have attended.
Less general info at the start and more about hand cues and implementation.
