Will you do anything differently as a result of today's training?
Definitely. Reassess my own practices and see how I can improve my own services to my students.
Better understanding when speaking to parents and children/young people.
Greater awareness of CVI and appropriate support when doing needs assessments.
Be very aware of the need to de-clutter display areas/pages in workbooks etc.
More confident working with children and young people with CVI.
Consider if level of environment is conducive to teaching a task. Difficulty/observe QTVI work as part of my role.
Think more about observation; why children are doing what they are doing - where damage is and how we can support them.
Minimise distractions in classrooms and share activity planning task with mainstream staff. Gather appropriate CVI assessment material and create evidence-gathering protocols. Work with the team to identify pupils with possible CVI.
Yes, I now have a clear understanding of current thinking in CVI, and strategies to support. Further course learning and professional development. Further reading/research to put strategies in place. Look at school environment to de-clutter and create better workspaces.
Yes - use of the activity guideline sheets 'frustrating/comfortable'! Classroom clutter.
More awareness of resources provided to children and seating arrangements etc.
Further consider learning environment! (Already reduced clutter for autistic learners, but could reduce further). Course will also help me to identify whether assessment (vision, not just CVI) is required.
Re-look at how we work with our students with CVI.
I'm not sure, it depends on the students I meet.

What was best about the course/event?
Understanding CVI and assessing CVI.
Pitched at the right level. Speaker was clear and presented the information well. I enjoyed all of it. It was very interesting and informative.
Dynamic presentation - enthusiastic speaker.
Explanation of eye/vision - pitched at an appropriate level.
Information clearly explained/opportunities to ask questions.
It was all very informative and enjoyable.
Great general overview and in sufficient depth to ensure understanding.
Practical information on CVI assessment.
Very clearly presented and lots of practical advice.
Lots of relevant information, visuals and questions answered fully. Further research, websites given.
Use of resources and info about what to look for/assessment strategies.
Raised my awareness significantly about the difficulties children with CVI face.
Part on brain function and telltale signs of CVI - lots of red flags going up as you spoke!
Good knowledge and expertise.
Helpful info to CVI.
What, if anything, could have been improved about the course?
More time - too short, too much.
Further info on advanced children with CVI.
Handouts of course notes/PowerPoints (to enable note taking for slides). Quite fast paced, due to it being a one-day course on a very complex topic! Handouts of the PowerPoints would be great.
