Sounds of Intent: Music for Learners with Complex Needs

This course explored how to promote the musical development of children and young people with complex needs based on the Sounds of Intent framework http://soundsofintent.org
Participants were encouraged to bring a mobile device or laptop with them to practise using the site.
The course:
- outlined how musical skills and interests develop in children with complex needs, including those with sensory impairment;
- set out the Sounds of Intent framework;
- explained how to assess children using the online framework and recording system;
- provided the opportunity to practise using the site and explore its resources.
Target Audience
All those working with children/young people with complex needs, including teachers, support staff, early years practitioners, voluntary organisations and parents/carers.
