BSL Astronomy Glossary - light pollution - definition

Definition: The light, emitted by streetlights and other lights in our cities and towns, causes light pollution. In some places where there is a lot of light pollution, the night sky can appear orange or brownish in colour, making it difficult to see stars and other objects in the night sky.
