BSL Astronomy Glossary - virgo - definition

Definition: A constellation is a group of stars and Virgo is a constellation that looks a little bit like a woman. Virgo can be found in the night sky by first locating the Plough, which helps us locate so many different celestial bodies and Virgo is no exception. First, find the three stars that make up the handle of the Plough and follow a line arching downwards to the left until you find Arcturus, the bright star in the constellation of Bootes. Continue down and you will come to the constellation of Virgo, as shown in the video. The brightest star in Virgo is Spica, which represents a bunch of flowers that the woman is holding.
