BSL Biology Glossary - nectar - definition

Definition: Nectar is a sweet liquid in the middle of a flower. Bees and birds like to drink the nectar. They pick up pollen from other plants - it sticks to their legs and is passed on when the bee gets to another plant. The bee goes from plant to plant drinking the nectar and then it makes it into honey.
