BSL Data Science Glossary - Artificial Intelligence (AI) definition

Definition: AI. So what does it mean? It's where computers, software and hardware can do something clever - or "smart". For example, the computer has a camera that records your fingerspelling - with you fingerspelling "A", it recognises the handshape, removes the background to the hand, analyses it and understands that it is fingerspelling "A". The computer itself recognises the fingerspelling "A". That's quite smart. So that's what AI is.
