BSL Data Science Glossary - DATA MINING definition

Definition: With an enormous amount of data, like a massive pile of random data. You start going through it, trying to find nuggets of data that may give some useful, new information. You would tag them with metadata to give them some names. You will be working across the pile of data, to take them into structured databases and with tagging, all working together to give you new information.
