BSL Data Science Glossary - Data Science definition

Definition: Data science is where maths, statistics and computer science meet, using computers and code to help research and understand. It helps us to answer the big questions from the business and the society, the why, how and what of business and society. For example, a question may be, why is the weather cold? Research can be performed looking at weather data, climate data, planetary data, looking at the history of these, and the patterns emerging that shows that it gets cold when it is winter time. Data science is a lot of detailed and thorough research.
