BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Electrical impulse definition

Definition: Electrical impulses travel along the nerves around the body carrying messages to and from the spinal cord. If you touch something, your fingertips sense touch, and the sensory nerve is stimulated and sends an impulse up your arm along the neurones to the spinal cord which then sends it on to the appropriate site.
