BSL Environmental Science Glossary - Environmental change definition

Definition: An Environmental Change is any change that occurs to a previously stable ecosystem. This is most often due to either natural causes, for example, when lightning causes a forest fire, or it can be the result of human activity for example, cutting down trees in the rainforest leading to the loss of habitat.
